The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Monday performed a supplementary Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination for 490 candidates whose ComputerBased Test centres have been earlier suspended for malpractices and different infractions.

The UTME was held in JAMB CBT centre in Kogo, Abuja, JAMB Bayelsa State office, Yenagoa and JAMB Nationwide Headquarters in Bwari, Abuja.

The board said, in its weekly bulletin, that “it was expedient to droop all examinations at centres earlier earmarked for the candidates based on the dearth of capability of the centres and involvement in examination infractions.”
Our correspondent learnt that aside from the 490 candidates retaking the examination, the UTME results of 127 candidates have been undergoing forensic evaluation by a panel of specialists due to the suspicion of examination malpractices. JAMB mentioned, “The board has performed a supplementary examination for 490 candidates, who couldn’t take their rescheduled examination. The candidates in 17 classes underneath this class have been recognized. Among the candidates have been to sit down in centres that have been sanctioned by the use of suspension owing to their lack of capability whereas others have been concerned in examination infractions.
